COVID RECOVERY

HAVE YOUR SUFFERED FROM COVID-19 AND EXPERIENCED SIDE EFFECTS OF THE VIRUS?

I am fully certified by CAWS to rehabilitate people after Covid-19 and long Covid.

Working alongside medical practitioners, I am able to prescribe effective and structured rehabilitation programmes for Covid-19 sufferers that are specific to you and your symptoms.

The qualification has given me a huge insight in understanding the impact this virus can have your body, and the steps needed to rehabilitate. It is run by Dr Colin Robertson, an exercise physiologist and clinical researcher who specialises in managing disease through physical activity, exercise and nutrition so this guy really knows his stuff! The course also offers, up to date information and support to keep me up to speed if any advice changes.

It is imperitive if you have suffered Covid-19, whether mild or more complex, that you seek advice from a professional before deciding to start or re-start any physical activity.

Post virus, the impact can be huge regardless of your age and previous fitness level. Chronic fatigue is one of its many side effects. It damages the lungs and oxygen levels in the blood so even a simple task of walking up a flight of stairs can really take its toll.

Even if you have been a frequent exercise goer and contracted the virus, you may be struggling to return to exercise as there is a danger of pushing yourself too hard too soon to get back to your previous fitness level. This can have a detrimental effect, both mentally and physically and potentially worsen symptoms.

By seeking the help of an exercise professional who understands how you've been affected by Covid-19, you can work together to set the pace of each exercise session and explore how your diet can improve your health. This will enable you to take a gradual, structured approach and not compromise your physical or mental wellbeing. Safely and slowly you will build up your exercise tolerance and be on the right road to a full recovery.

This certification is backed by UK and European authorities such as UK Active.
